“Pathetic Cowards! Bring Out the CCTV of Oyo Kidnappers” — Aisha Yesufu Blasts FG
Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has challenged the Federal Government to release any available CCTV footage of those responsible for the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
She argued that the authorities should focus on confronting the country’s worsening security challenges rather than engaging in political controversies.
Yesufu made the remarks on Saturday in a post on her verified X account while reacting to the ongoing exchange between the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
The dispute followed Keyamo’s call on Obi to apologise to airport authorities and pay a ₦25,000 fine over an alleged breach of parking regulations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The controversy comes after Obi recently alleged that the APC-led Federal Government was targeting him, claiming he has been subjected to persistent intimidation and harassment.
Responding, Yesufu criticised what she described as the government’s misplaced priorities, arguing that greater attention should be paid to violent crimes and the safety of Nigerians.
“Pathetic cowards! Let them bring out the CCTV of the kidnappers that took away children in Oyo or of the ones that have been terrorising citizens.
“Majoring in the minor is all they are freaking good at,” she wrote.
