Joaquin Buckley Makes Shocking UFC Revelation After Brutal Knockout Loss
UFC welterweight Joaquin Buckley has announced plans to retire after one more fight, just days after suffering a brutal knockout defeat to Mike Malott at UFC Edmonton. The 32-year-old revealed on Thursday that the loss deeply affected his family and forced him to reconsider his future in mixed martial arts.

Buckley said his grandmother urged him to leave the sport, warning that his mental well-being was more important than continuing to fight. After reflecting on her advice, he decided to make one final appearance in the Octagon, promising to prepare thoroughly and avoid shortcuts. He has yet to announce a date or opponent for his farewell bout.

The knockout loss was Buckley’s third consecutive defeat, following decision losses to former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady. He previously recorded six straight victories after moving to the welterweight division, including stoppage wins over Stephen Thompson and Colby Covington. With a professional record of 21-9 and 15 knockout victories, Buckley now hopes to end his UFC career on his own terms.
