Dana White Drops Major Hint on UFC’s Plans for Georgia
UFC CEO Dana White has revealed that the promotion is working towards staging an event in Georgia in 2027, raising hopes among fans eager to watch the organisation’s biggest stars compete in the country. White gave the indication on Thursday during the UFC 333 press conference in Abu Dhabi, responding affirmatively when asked about the possibility of a Georgian event.
The question was raised by Setanta Sports journalist Giorgi Buchukuri, who referenced Georgian stars Ilia Topuria and Merab Dvalishvili. White replied, “Yes, sir. Yes. We are definitely working on that. And the answer is yes. Hell, yes.” However, he did not announce a host city, event date, headliner or confirmed hosting agreement.

Georgia has previously expressed interest in hosting the UFC, with sports minister Shalva Gogoladze meeting White at UFC 316 in June 2025 to discuss an invitation and preparatory talks. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili is scheduled to face Petr Yan for the bantamweight title at UFC 333 on October 24 in Abu Dhabi. White’s latest remarks signal progress towards a possible Georgian event, although key details remain unconfirmed.
