JAMB Plans UTME Centre in Canada for Nigerians From 2027
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is planning to establish a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre in Ottawa, Canada, from 2027.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, disclosed the plan during a visit to the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa. The proposed centre is expected to make it easier for Nigerians in Canada and other parts of North America to sit for the UTME without travelling to Nigeria.

The board said the initiative is part of its J-CARE framework and is aimed at expanding access to Nigerian tertiary education for citizens in the diaspora.
JAMB said the move would also strengthen the connection between Nigerians abroad and the country’s education system while creating greater international awareness of Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions.
