Beatriz Mesquita Targets Ailin Perez After Another UFC Victory
Brazilian fighter Beatriz Mesquita is continuing her impressive rise in the UFC after securing a victory over Melissa Mullins at UFC Fight Night 279.

The former Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion finished Mullins in her third UFC appearance, extending her unbeaten MMA record to 8-0.
Following the win, Mesquita made it clear that her goal is to become UFC bantamweight champion and establish herself as one of the biggest names in women’s mixed martial arts.

Speaking after the fight, Mesquita said she hopes to climb as high as possible in the rankings and earn a title shot in 2027. She also called out rising Argentine contender Ailin Perez as the opponent she wants next.
Mesquita explained that she believes a fight with Perez would attract plenty of attention because of the long-standing sporting rivalry between Brazil and Argentina. She also criticized Perez’s behavior inside the UFC, saying she feels some of her actions are disrespectful.
“The Octagon is no place to be twerking and showing your butt,” Mesquita said. “I’m ready to face her and show the ‘Lady GOAT’ mentality.”

With her undefeated record intact and growing momentum in the division, Mesquita is positioning herself as a serious contender for the UFC bantamweight title.
