After Waiting 48 Years for Marriage, Nigerian Woman Welcomes Quadruplets at 50

A Nigerian woman has shared her remarkable journey to motherhood after giving birth to quadruplets at the age of 50, following her marriage two years earlier after decades of waiting.

Olushola Olonade recounted her story during a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Solid Rock Parish, in Ojodu, Lagos, where she described the birth of her four babies as a testament to faith and perseverance.

According to her, she got married on December 12, 2023, at the age of 48 after years of hoping for a life partner. Determined not to endure another long wait, she prayed that motherhood would come quickly after her wedding.

Not long after, she became pregnant. Early medical scans suggested she was expecting twins, but subsequent examinations brought even more surprising news. A second scan indicated triplets, while a later examination confirmed she was carrying quadruplets.

Recalling the emotional moment, Olonade said each hospital visit brought a different revelation, leaving her and her husband overwhelmed by the unexpected blessing.

She eventually gave birth to two boys and two girls on March 6, 2026, just three weeks before celebrating her 50th birthday on March 31.

Olonade noted that multiple births are common in her family, adding that several relatives, including her aunt, were astonished but delighted by the arrival of the four babies.

Expressing gratitude, she thanked God for preserving her life throughout the pregnancy and safe delivery, describing the experience as a miracle she will cherish forever.
