UFC Releases Undefeated Farid Basharat After Seven Octagon Wins
Undefeated UFC bantamweight Farid Basharat has reportedly been released by the promotion following the expiration of his contract, despite winning all seven of his fights in the Octagon. The 29-year-old Afghan-born fighter has maintained a perfect 16-0 professional record, including victories over Chris Gutierrez, Taylor Lapilus, Jean Matsumoto and Da’Mon Blackshear.
Basharat’s last outing came in July at UFC 329, where he defeated John Garza by unanimous decision. After the fight, he appealed publicly for a new contract, telling commentator Joe Rogan that he had competed despite suffering knee injuries and insisting that he deserved an opportunity to face higher-ranked opponents.

The reported release follows a similar development involving his brother, Javid Basharat, who was let go after his UFC contract expired despite winning his final fight. Javid has since signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), where he secured a decision victory in August. Farid’s next move remains uncertain as fans await news about the future of one of MMA’s unbeaten prospects.
