Sean Strickland Threatens UFC Exit as Conor Benn’s $15m Deal Raises Pay Questions
UFC champion Sean Strickland has threatened to leave the promotion over fighter pay, reigniting debate over the reported $15 million deal Conor Benn received from Zuffa Boxing. Strickland said he was frustrated with the money being offered for his next fight and suggested he could finish his UFC contract before moving to the 205-pound division and fighting Jake Paul.
The comments have drawn attention to the growing pay gap between UFC fighters and boxers competing under the Zuffa banner. Benn reportedly secured $10 million to $15 million for his initial Zuffa agreement, which was later upgraded to a multi-fight deal, although the terms were not disclosed.

The debate comes as UFC parent company TKO operates under a major broadcasting agreement with Paramount reportedly worth $7.7 billion over seven years. While UFC performance bonuses were increased from $50,000 to $100,000, questions over guaranteed fighter pay remain, with Strickland’s comments adding fresh pressure to the promotion.
