Debt Management Office Opens October 2026 FGN Savings Bond Offer With Lower Rates

The Debt Management Office has opened subscriptions for the October 2026 Federal Government of Nigeria Savings Bond, offering a three-year instrument at an interest rate of 14.071% per annum.

The rate marks a notable decrease compared to the 15.12% offered on the same tenor during September, reflecting prevailing adjustments in the domestic interest-rate environment.

The October issuance features both two-year and three-year options maturing on October 14, 2028, on 13.071% per annum interest rate, while the three-year bond maturing on October 14, 2029, offers 14.071% per annum.

Subscriptions opened on October 5 and are scheduled to close on October 9, 2026, with official settlement slated for October 14.

Quarterly interest payouts will be disbursed on January 14, April 14, July 14, and October 14, backed entirely by the full faith and credit of the Federal Government.

Designed specifically for retail market participation, each unit of the savings bond is priced at N1,000. Individual investors can subscribe with a minimum amount of N5,000, scaling up in multiples of N1,000 up to a maximum threshold of N50 million.
