TINUBU DECLARES THREE-DAY MOURNING FOR ONDO MILITARY CRASH VICTIMS
President Bola Tinubu has declared three days of national mourning following the military aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, which claimed 32 lives.
Tinubu made the declaration in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
He also directed that flags be flown at half-mast nationwide and ordered a probe into the cause of the crash.
The aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin City to Lagos when it crashed at Igbokoda.
A military source confirmed that all 32 people on board, including 25 passengers and seven crew members, died in the crash.
The President expressed condolences to the victims’ families and the Nigerian Air Force, describing the incident as a painful moment for the nation.
Tinubu commended the Air Force for activating a search and rescue operation, while also praising first responders and the Ondo State Government.
