Israel Adesanya Backs Rival Marvin Vettori Ahead of UFC 332 Fight
Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has thrown his support behind old rival Marvin Vettori ahead of his UFC 332 clash with Ismail Naurdiev.
Vettori enters the fight on a four-fight losing streak, with his last UFC victory coming in 2023. Adesanya, who defeated Vettori twice during their careers, said he understands the Italian’s struggles because he is also coming off four straight defeats.
Adesanya also acknowledged the tragedy surrounding Vettori’s family, saying the death of Vettori’s brother in a house fire made it difficult for him to feel negatively towards his former rival.
“I want him to win. It would be good for him, his morale, his spirit,” Adesanya said, adding, “When you win, I win. When I win, you win. Whether you like it or not, Vettori, we’re locked in this sh-t for life.”
