Nearly 20 years after Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt battled on the biggest tennis stages, their families are now attracting attention at the 2026 US Open.

During the first week at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Myla Federer and Cruz Hewitt were spotted sitting together while watching Ben Shelton face Tallon Griekspoor.

The teenagers were seen laughing, chatting and showing each other things on their phones, creating a relaxed scene far removed from the intense rivalry once shared by their fathers.

Cruz has already begun making his own mark in tennis, reaching the junior final at Wimbledon this year. He is also reportedly close with Myla and her twin sister, Charlene.

The youngsters have been seen together at major tournaments, including the Australian Open and Wimbledon, fueling plenty of interest from tennis fans.

Their friendship is an interesting contrast to the rivalry between Federer and Hewitt. The two legends met 27 times, with Federer winning 18 encounters, including memorable battles at the US Open.

Federer went on to win a record eight Wimbledon titles, while Hewitt became the first Australian man of the Open Era to lift the Wimbledon trophy in 2002.

Now, the spotlight has shifted to their children, and fans are already wondering whether the next generation could create their own tennis story.
