2027 ADC Candidate Atiku Raises Fresh Tinubu Claim, Says I Have Evidence
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has made a fresh claim concerning President Bola Tinubu, insisting that he possesses evidence to back his position.
Atiku, who is seeking the presidency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 election, spoke during an interview with the BBC published on Friday.
He said the evidence was available and that he would be willing to present it before a court if the matter eventually became a subject of legal proceedings.
The former vice president also explained why he remains determined to contest for the presidency despite his previous attempts to occupy Nigeria’s highest political office.
According to him, his opposition to military rule and the obstacles he encountered during earlier presidential contests have strengthened his resolve to continue seeking the position.
Atiku maintained that he is constitutionally qualified to contest the election and believes his experience, competence and patriotism make him capable of leading the country.
He also criticised the Federal Government over the worsening security situation, accusing it of failing to adequately address challenges within the defence and policing sectors.
The ADC candidate pledged that, if elected, his administration would make the fight against insecurity a priority and work towards significantly addressing the problem within one year.
Explaining his continued interest in the presidency, Atiku contrasted his own health and fitness with his assessment of the incumbent.
“You have a President who is 90 years old now and sick and I am healthy and strong. So why won’t I make myself available to serve my country?” he said.
Atiku further maintained that he had evidence concerning Tinubu and would take it before the court if necessary.
“I have evidence that President Tinubu is 90 years old and I will present it in court,” he said.
