Guilherme Uriel Ready for UFC Debut Immediately After DWCS Win
Brazilian heavyweight Guilherme Uriel appears eager to make his UFC debut after earning his contract with a spectacular first-round submission on Dana White’s Contender Series. Uriel improved his record to 8-2 by catching Mario Piazzon in a standing guillotine choke and finishing the fight in under a minute.
The quick submission even surprised UFC CEO Dana White, who initially doubted the choke would work before admitting Uriel had proved him wrong. The Brazilian, nicknamed “Urso,” meaning “bear,” said he is already prepared to compete again and jokingly called on the UFC to make the call, insisting he could be ready as soon as the next day.

Uriel also addressed his brief confrontation with Piazzon at the weigh-ins, explaining that he is not someone who normally engages in trash talk and reacted instinctively when the two fighters got close. Despite the incident, he said nobody from the promotion approached him about it, leaving the newly signed UFC heavyweight free to focus on his upcoming debut.
