Fadahunsi Arrives Osun Police Headquarters Over Alleged Threat Against Accord Members
Senator representing Osun East in the National Assembly, Francis Fadahunsi, has reported at the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo following an invitation by the police over an alleged threat involving members of the Accord Party.
Fadahunsi arrived at the command at about 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police responsible for election security, Samuel Etaifo.
The senator’s visit comes a day after a video circulated on social media in which he was accused of making threatening remarks against supporters of the Accord Party ahead of the Osun governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
The controversy also involves Francis Eniade, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
In the widely circulated video, Fadahunsi was heard speaking in Yoruba and allegedly warning against the presence of Accord Party members in Ilesa before the election.
The remarks triggered public concern and renewed calls for political actors to avoid statements capable of heightening tension ahead of the poll.
Police authorities subsequently invited the senator to appear before the command as part of efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged statement.
His arrival at the police headquarters marks the latest development in the controversy as political parties and their supporters prepare for Saturday’s governorship election.
The allegation has generated attention because of the potential implications of inflammatory political statements in the final days of an election.
