Soludo’s wife celebrates recovery of abused minor, settles medical bill
Wife of Anambra Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has expressed joy over the full recovery of a 10-year-old boy, Chiziterem, who was allegedly tortured by his guardian in Awada, Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
Soludo, who had earlier promised to monitor the child’s treatment until he fully recovered, announced on Saturday that Chiziterem had been discharged from the hospital after making a complete recovery.
In a statement, she said she had settled all the child’s medical bills and would also support his mother with resources to establish a sustainable livelihood to enable her cater better for her children.
She thanked individuals and groups who visited the boy, prayed for him, sent gifts and encouraged his family during the period of his treatment.
“My heart is filled with immense gratitude as Chiziterem leaves the hospital today fully healed.
“His journey reminds us that kindness, compassion and collective love can restore hope even in the most difficult situations.
“I sincerely thank everyone who was touched by his story; those who visited him, prayed for him, sent gifts, offered words of encouragement, and stood with his family throughout this period.
“Your generosity and empathy truly made a real difference.
“As promised, I have taken care of all his medical bills, and we will also support his mother with the means to start a sustainable livelihood so she can provide a better future for her children,” she said.
The governor’s wife expressed hope that the boy’s recovery would continue to inspire compassion and acts of kindness toward vulnerable members of society.
