Pope Leo XIV Faces Family Health Concerns As Brother Battles Blood Cancer
Pope Leo XIV is reportedly facing fresh family health concerns following reports that his brother, Louis Prevost, is receiving treatment for blood cancer.

A source close to the Prevost family disclosed the development to NBC 5 Chicago correspondent Mary Ann Ahern, although further details about Louis’ condition remain unavailable.
The report emerged a day after the pontiff underwent surgery in Rome, where doctors diagnosed him with lung adenocarcinoma, a form of non-small cell lung cancer.
According to Harvard Medical School, lung adenocarcinoma occurs when abnormal cells multiply uncontrollably in lung tissue, eventually forming a tumour that may affect normal respiratory function.
The Lung Cancer Foundation of America identifies lung adenocarcinoma as the most common form of lung cancer, accounting for approximately 40 per cent of reported cases.
The Vatican confirmed that surgeons removed the lower lobe of the pope’s right lung during a procedure earlier this week.
However, details about Louis Prevost’s prognosis, treatment timeline and current condition have not been disclosed publicly.
Information about the pontiff’s recovery and long-term prognosis also remains limited, leaving questions about his health following the reported cancer diagnosis and surgery.
