Nollywood Actor Joseph Momodu Leaves Screen Career for Service in the US Army
Nigerian actor Joseph Momodu has announced a major career change after revealing that he has enlisted in the United States Army, bringing his journey in Nollywood to an end.

The actor shared the news on Instagram over the weekend, describing his enlistment as the realization of a lifelong ambition.
He also paid tribute to his late father, who served in the Nigeria Police Force before passing away two decades ago.
According to Momodu, joining the military was his way of continuing the legacy of his father. He disclosed that he officially enlisted on April 12, 2026, saying the milestone carried deep personal meaning for him.

He admitted that the demanding military training tested his resolve and came with moments of uncertainty. Despite the challenges, he remained focused on achieving his goal.
Momodu is now serving as Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

He joins a growing list of Nollywood personalities who have pursued military careers in the United States, including Mayowa Dosu and Grace-Charis Bassey.
