Nigerian Dancer Nears 168-Hour Guinness World Record Attempt

Nigerian dancer and choreographer Benjamin Daniel Gabriel, popularly known as Bendancer, is on the final day of a 168-hour dance marathon in Lagos as he attempts to break the Guinness World Records title for the longest dance marathon by an individual.

The 33-year-old began the challenge at Freedom Park on September 21 and is aiming to surpass the current published record of 127 hours, set by Indian dancer Srushti Sudhir Jagtap in 2023.

Bendancer has used the marathon to showcase Nigerian culture, incorporating different dance styles, music genres and traditional outfits. While crowds and social media users have followed the challenge, Guinness World Records has not yet confirmed the attempt as an official new record and will have to assess the evidence before making a decision.
