NFF DEMANDS FAIR OFFICIATING FROM REFEREES
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has warned referees against errors of judgment during officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
The warning was contained in a memo addressed to all club signed by Mohammed Ameenu of the federation’s Refereeing Development Committee.
The Federation’s stated that the move is to sustain improved officiating in the League.
The memo commended referees for improved performances in the six weeks old league.
It also pointed those wrong calls, including gross misrepresentation of the Laws of the Game, had also been observed.
The match officials have also been urged to uphold equity, fairness and standard interpretation of the Laws of the Game 2026 as amended.
The NFF insisted that any referee who disregards the guidelines and brings the game into disrepute will be dismissed and handed over to security agencies for prosecution.
