Farid Basharat Makes a Shocking Revelation About His UFC Release
Former UFC bantamweight fighter Farid Basharat has revealed that the promotion described him as a boring fighter after his bout against Chris Gutierrez. Speaking to UFC Hall of Famer Demetrious Johnson, Basharat suggested that the organisation preferred aggressive brawlers, bloody contests and quick finishes over technical performances that often end in decisions.

Basharat left the UFC with an unbeaten 16-0 professional record, including seven victories inside the Octagon. Six of those UFC wins came via decision, with his final five appearances ending on the judges’ scorecards. Despite his perfect record, the promotion reportedly allowed his contract to expire in October 2026 without offering a renewal.

The fighter also rejected suggestions that he had turned down fights or been difficult to work with behind the scenes. He pointed to his willingness to accept challenging matchups, including a fight against Victor Hugo after his opponent severely missed weight, as evidence of his commitment to competing. His departure has raised questions among fans about how the UFC weighs an undefeated record against fighting style and entertainment value.
