DLA flags off 2027 campaign, presents certificates of return to candidates
The Democratic Leadership Alliance, DLA, has commenced its campaign for the 2027 general elections with the presentation of certificates of return to candidates selected to represent the party.
The party’s National Chairman, Barrister Samuel Memeh, made the call at the campaign flag-off ceremony in Abuja, urging candidates to focus on ideas, policies and programmes that address the concerns of Nigerians.
Memeh urged the candidates to prioritise issues affecting citizens as they seek elective positions in the 2027 elections.
The National Chairman of the DLA Campaign Council, Fortune Toma, also called on the candidates to remain united and work together towards achieving the party’s objectives.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, the DLA governorship candidate for Akwa Ibom State, Obong Jeremiah Akpan, expressed confidence in the party’s chances, saying it was determined to win the elections.
The DLA was registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission on February 5, 2026, and is preparing to participate in the forthcoming general elections.
The presentation of certificates of return marks another stage in the party’s preparations as its candidates begin their campaigns ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.
