Death Toll Rises After Passenger Bus Plunges Into Roadside Ditch in Pakistan
A journey from Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan to the nation’s capital ended in tragedy on Friday after a passenger bus veered off the road and crashed into a deep roadside ditch, leaving dozens of travellers dead.

Rescue officials confirmed that 40 people lost their lives in the accident, while eight others survived with injuries and were taken for medical treatment. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to recover victims and assist the wounded.
The bus had departed from Quetta and was travelling to Islamabad with 48 passengers on board when the crash occurred in Balochistan, a province where difficult terrain and long-distance road travel have often contributed to deadly traffic accidents.
Authorities have yet to announce the cause of the crash, but investigations are expected to determine what led the vehicle to leave the roadway.

Road accidents remain a recurring challenge in parts of Pakistan, where poor road conditions, ageing vehicles and dangerous driving have repeatedly resulted in major loss of life.
