APC Pulls PDP, APGA, Accord Into Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign as Party Loyalists Resist
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has drawn members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Accord Party into President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign council.

The move has reportedly triggered opposition within the ruling party, with some APC loyalists expressing concerns over the inclusion of politicians from rival parties in strategic campaign positions.
The expanded campaign structure reflects Tinubu’s efforts to build a broader political alliance ahead of the 2027 presidential election, bringing together supporters across different party affiliations.
Under the arrangement, opposition politicians have been assigned campaign responsibilities in Rivers State, the Federal Capital Territory, Anambra State and Osun State, according to reports.
The decision to accommodate opposition figures has raised questions about the balance between coalition-building and the interests of APC members who have remained loyal to the party.
However, supporters of the arrangement believe that working with politicians outside the APC could help expand Tinubu’s political reach and strengthen mobilisation efforts ahead of the next general election.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, a member of the PDP, has defended the initiative, describing the emerging alliance as a coalition open to supporters from different political backgrounds.
Wike declared that the Rainbow Coalition had come to stay, signalling his support for continued cooperation among politicians backing Tinubu despite their different party affiliations.
The arrangement allows participating politicians to support Tinubu’s presidential ambition while maintaining their membership of their respective parties and pursuing separate political interests in other elections.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari retains his position as Director-General of the campaign council, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma remains its secretary under the expanded structure.
The development comes as political parties begin positioning themselves for the 2027 general election, with coalition-building and negotiations expected to shape alliances across the country.

The expanded council is expected to be inaugurated in Abuja, formally bringing the participating political figures into Tinubu’s campaign structure ahead of the presidential contest.
