Dana White Sends Message to Usman Nurmagomedov, Clears Up Heavyweight Picture
UFC president Dana White has expressed interest in signing Usman Nurmagomedov, but his comments suggest that a potential move remains dependent on the lightweight’s contractual situation. Speaking ahead of UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, White said: “When he’s a free agent, and he’s able to talk to us, we’re interested.” He did not confirm negotiations, a deal or a date for the undefeated fighter’s possible UFC debut.

Nurmagomedov strengthened his reputation with a first-round victory over Archie Colgan in the PFL lightweight championship main event on July 31. The win left him with a reported record of 22 victories, no defeats and one no-contest. White’s remarks have fuelled interest in a possible UFC move, but no signing has been announced.

White also addressed the UFC heavyweight title situation, explaining that Tom Aspinall would inform the promotion when he was ready to return. Aspinall vacated the championship while recovering from eye complications, allowing Ciryl Gane to become undisputed champion. Gane is scheduled to defend the title against Josh Hokit at UFC 334 on November 14 in New York, while Aspinall’s comeback date remains unconfirmed.
