Grant Dawson Shares Personal Pain Ahead of UFC 333
UFC lightweight Grant Dawson has revealed that he and his wife lost a pregnancy during fight week before his previous bout, as the couple now prepare to welcome their first child. Dawson shared the difficult experience in the third episode of UFC 333 Embedded, released on October 21, ahead of his scheduled clash with Nurullo Aliev in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Dawson said the loss occurred on the Monday of his previous fight week, describing the experience as deeply painful for the couple. He credited their faith for helping them through the period and explained that, with his wife pregnant again, he is trying to stay focused on his upcoming fight while balancing the emotions surrounding their family journey.
In the Octagon, Dawson will face unbeaten Aliev, who holds a 12-0 record and has won four UFC fights. Dawson enters the matchup after submitting Mateusz Rebecki in May and hopes another victory will move him closer to a top-15 opponent and strengthen his position in future contract negotiations.
