Kelechi Iheanacho Makes Turkish Football History With Record-Breaking Scoring Streak
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has made Turkish football history after scoring in 10 consecutive matches in the Turkish First League. The Bursaspor striker scored twice and provided an assist as his side defeated Muğlaspor 3-0 away from home on Thursday.

Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 58th minute after an earlier effort was ruled out for offside. He added his second goal in the 73rd minute before setting up Hüseyin Maldar to complete the victory in the 83rd minute. According to Turkish newspaper Hürriyet, the Nigerian surpassed the previous record of nine consecutive scoring matches achieved by Galatasaray legend Metin Oktay in 1962-63 and former Turkey international Saffet Sancaklı in 1995-96.

The 29-year-old had already set a Bursaspor club record by scoring in nine straight matches, surpassing Fernandao’s eight-game streak from the 2014-15 season. Iheanacho has now recorded 14 goals and three assists in 10 appearances this season, underlining his remarkable form in Turkey.
