Iran Strikes Back After US Attack Kills Wedding Guests

Iran has launched fresh attacks on US military positions across the Middle East after American strikes reportedly killed four people at a wedding.

Iranian state media reported that a four-year-old boy was among those killed near Sirik, a port city in southern Iran.

The Iranian Red Crescent said more than fifty people were injured after shrapnel struck a residential building hosting the wedding.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps condemned the attack, saying a wedding celebration had been turned into mourning after the building was destroyed.

The IRGC said it retaliated with missile and drone attacks against US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain and Erbil, Iraq.

It claimed several enemy forces were killed and drones destroyed during an attack on Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem airbase.

Neither the American nor Kuwaiti military has confirmed the IRGC’s claims about casualties or destruction at the base.

Kuwait confirmed missile and drone attacks on its territory, saying its air defences were responding to the incoming threats.

A fire also broke out at a residential complex in Kuwait City but was brought under control, with no casualties reported.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran against further retaliation, threatening a stronger response if Tehran launches additional attacks on American targets.

Trump said the United States now had almost total control of the Strait of Hormuz and claimed Iran’s economy was collapsing.

Jordan’s military said it intercepted 10 of 13 Iranian ballistic missiles fired towards the country, while three landed in remote areas.

The latest confrontation followed American strikes on rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Washington said the strikes followed intelligence that Iran was preparing to deploy new mines in the strategic waterway.

Tehran later launched missiles towards US positions in Jordan, while the United Arab Emirates reported intercepting an Iranian drone.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran would respond if Washington returned to negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.

The latest attacks have intensified fears that the confrontation could spread further across the Middle East.
