TODAY IN HISTORY – 1st Sept, 2026 – ORBITS NEWS
By Valentine Uchechukwu Ndukwu.
One of the major concerns surrounding history is its subjective nature. And on the 1st day of September in years that are gone by, there are narratives we have accepted as true that were shaped by the perspectives and biases of those who record and retell them.
Hence, history is not ultimately about what happened, but who tells the story about what happened.
For this episode of Today in history, let us carefully cast our minds back to some wonderful events that took place on this day in the past.
