Chelsea and Fulham Cruise through Carabao Cup Round 2
Chelsea and Fulham both secured comfortable victories on Thursday evening to advance past the second stage of the EFL Cup.
Playing on August 27, 2026, the two Premier League clubs handled their respective lower-league opponents with dominant clean-sheet performances.
Both London sides successfully took care of business in these official Carabao Cup Round 2 fixtures to keep their domestic cup ambitions on track.
Chelsea defeated Luton Town 2–0 at Stamford Bridge, breaking a stubborn deadlock early in the second half.
Forward Danny Welbeck opened the scoring on his Blues debut in the 50th minute, providing a crucial breakthrough after a competitive, scoreless first half.
Chelsea then doubled their advantage in the 79th minute following an unfortunate own goal by Luton’s Hakeem Odoffin, effectively sealing the victory and eliminating the Hatters.
