Osun Election: Over 100 Alleged Imported Voters Arrested With Fresh PVCs
More than 100 people allegedly brought into Osun State to participate in Saturday’s governorship election have reportedly been arrested by security operatives.
The individuals, who were said to be carrying newly issued Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), were reportedly staying at the residence of Hon. Abiola Ibrahim, a member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Irewole-Isokan Constituency.
A video circulating on social media showed the alleged voters being questioned by security personnel.
During the interrogation, Ibrahim reportedly acknowledged that the group had been accommodated at his residence and claimed they were there to cast their ballots for the Accord Party.
The development comes as voters across Osun State head to polling units to elect the next governor.
Efforts to obtain an immediate response from the Osun State Police Command were unsuccessful as of press time.
