Hollywood actor Tom Holland has jokingly reacted to the viral story of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland ignoring his dinner invitation, describing the incident as a “humbling experience.” Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Holland said he reached out to Haaland after seeing him at the Monaco Grand Prix but never received a reply.
“You think, ‘I’ll text him and take him to dinner,’ but there wasn’t even a response,” Holland said with a laugh, adding that the experience was a good reminder not to take himself too seriously. Despite the snub, the Spider-Man star insisted he has no hard feelings and praised Haaland as “an absolute legend.”
Haaland later explained that he ignored the message because he did not recognize Holland’s name, admitting he rarely watches movies.
After discovering who had contacted him, the Norwegian striker said he intends to message the actor and make up for the misunderstanding, a lighthearted exchange that has amused fans online.
