Kamaru Usman Fires Back at Dricus du Plessis Over UFC Oklahoma City Fight Delay Claims
Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has responded to Dricus du Plessis after the South African accused him of delaying the announcement of their UFC Oklahoma City main event.

Du Plessis recently claimed Usman was hesitant to accept the fight and suggested he signed the contract mainly for financial reasons. However, Usman dismissed the allegations, insisting that his track record proves he has never been afraid to face any opponent.
Speaking in an interview with Daniel Cormier, Usman pointed to previous short-notice fights against top names like Khamzat Chimaev and Jorge Masvidal as evidence of his willingness to compete.
“How can anyone say I’m scared?” Usman said. “I’ve travelled across the world on short notice to fight the best. I’ll fight anybody. Anybody can get it.”

The highly anticipated middleweight clash is scheduled for July 18 at UFC Oklahoma City. Usman is moving up from welterweight in hopes of earning a title opportunity, while Du Plessis is looking to bounce back after suffering his first UFC defeat to Khamzat Chimaev.
