Anybody Voting Peter Obi, You’re Voting for Tinubu – Okonkwo Warns Ahead of 2027
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has stirred political debate with a strong warning about Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview on Symfoni TV, Okonkwo cautioned opposition supporters that a divided vote could strengthen President Bola Tinubu’s chances of re-election.
He stressed that the opposition must present a united front if it hopes to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election.
According to him, splitting votes among opposition candidates would weaken their collective strength and make it easier for the incumbent president to retain power.
Okonkwo, a former Labour Party spokesman, also criticised internal opposition dynamics, including discussions around coalition-building ahead of 2027.
He maintained that political ambition requires participation in competitive party processes such as primaries, rather than avoiding internal contests.
Reiterating his position, he said: “anybody voting any vote whatsoever to Peter Obi, you’re voting for Tinubu…”
He urged opposition leaders to rethink their strategy and prioritize unity ahead of the next presidential race.
