19 NYSC Prospective Members Abducted, Mother Pleads for Daughter’s Rescue
An Ibadan woman, Mrs Alimot Akande, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to rescue her daughter and 18 other prospective National Youth Service Corps members abducted while travelling to Abia State.

The 19 prospective corps members reportedly left Ibadan on Wednesday and were attacked by suspected kidnappers between Anambra and Abia states in the early hours of Thursday. Akande’s daughter is among those abducted.
Akande said the passengers stopped in Onitsha at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday before continuing their journey the following morning. She said her daughter managed to send a brief message reading “kidnappers!” before communication was lost.
She urged the Federal Government, NYSC, police and other security agencies to intensify efforts to locate the victims and bring them home safely.
